National Automatic Door Day

We're still in a post-National Automatic Door Day reverie. Every March, for the past six years, our industry has come together to celebrate the wonder that is automatic doors with a social media campaign that counts down to the big day on March 19. We at AAADM work to put together engaging content and our members share it across their own social channels.

It got us to wondering ... why not do that year-round? AAADM has an active social media schedule all year long. Sure, not all of it is as fun and whimsical as the Door Day promotions, but it's still vital content that is useful industrywide.

So, we'd like to take this time, while we're all still enthusiastic about the latest National Automatic Door Day, to make a request. Members, keep sharing AAADM's content on your own pages! It helps the industry, it helps us, and, most importantly … it helps you!

When you share consistent, positive, and informative messages, it lifts the category. It creates more demand. It does a better job of telling the story of automatic doors.

Sharing AAADM content generates meaningful strategic benefits for your business in terms of credibility, visibility, and brand positioning. Aligning with the industry's voice signals that you are engaged and that you're up on recognized standards, current trends, and professional best practices. It positions your business as informed and connected, strengthening its authority in the eyes of clients, partners, and prospects.

Appearing engaged with your industry's association can enhance the trust placed in you, because our content is viewed as neutral, educational, and focused on advancing the industry rather than promoting individual companies. When you boost that content, you look helpful and community-oriented instead of overly sales-driven. This reinforces the perception of your company values.

There are also practical marketing advantages. Sharing or tagging AAADM content can expand a company's reach and visibility. It's exposure that may lead to new followers, stronger engagement, and even partnership opportunities. In addition, association content can help fill a content calendar with credible, high-quality information, reducing the burden of constantly creating original material while still delivering value to your own audience.

Finally, sharing industry content demonstrates involvement and awareness. It shows that the company is paying attention to policy updates, research findings, industry events, and emerging trends. When a business adds its own commentary or perspective to the shared content, it further strengthens its positioning by connecting broader industry insights to its specific expertise. In this way, you're not only participating in the industrywide conversation, you're helping to shape it.

Obviously, the benefit also extends beyond individual brand visibility. It contributes to the health and advancement of the industry as a whole. Amplifying research, policy updates, standards, and educational resources helps ensure that accurate insights and best practices circulate widely, reducing misinformation and raising the collective level of knowledge across the field.

When companies consistently promote association guidelines, certifications, and advocacy efforts, they reinforce a shared understanding of professional expectations. That consistency improves public trust in the industry because customers encounter a unified message rather than fragmented or contradictory claims. Over time, this shared reinforcement elevates the reputation of the entire profession.

In addition, greater visibility for association initiatives increases engagement and participation. As more companies amplify events, research reports, and advocacy campaigns, more professionals become aware of opportunities to contribute, collaborate, and innovate. This creates a network effect: stronger participation leads to better research, more robust advocacy, and improved professional development resources, which in turn benefit all members.

So, as the excitement of March 19 lingers, let's carry that momentum forward. The celebration may center around one day, but the opportunity to strengthen our voice exists every day of the year. By continuing to share and support AAADM content, you're doing more than filling a social feed, you're reinforcing standards, building trust, expanding awareness, and helping tell a clear, unified story about the value of automatic doors. That's something worth celebrating all year long.
